THE LORD'S GYMS

I’m here because I can relate with a lot of the men because I know the paths they are on. I have shared in their experience. Most importantly, I’m a living witness to the life-changing power of God.” -Steve Peterson, Chaplain

The Lord’s Gyms are a weight-lifting, work out, and long-term discipleship program designed to teach at-risk men values and principles that avoid destructive lifestyles while nurturing their relationship with God.

There are locations in Covington and Price Hill.

At this ministry you can help men who struggle with addictions, who have been incarcerated and can’t find work, who struggle with living a destructive lifestyle.

Lord’s Gym offers a SAFE environment where relationships are established and nurtured.

The gym offers a variety of weight lifting equipment and opportunities for Christian fellowship. Devotion and Bible studies take place multiple times per day. Because the gyms host hundreds of patrons each month, thousands of people have heard and responded to the gospel of Jesus. Discipleship occurs daily as a way of life between our chaplains and willing members.

Some of our friends, as we like to call them, find benefit as they are referred to collaborating organizations that work in recovery and employment.

Bible study and participation is not a requirement for membership, which is currently $20 annually.

NOTE: The Queensgate Lord’s Gym has closed. In keeping with the Vision and Mission of FOCAS and desiring to be the best steward of its resources, the gym will be relocated at a time and place to be determined. Gym members can still work out and enjoy fellowship at the Covington and Price Hill locations.

Scott Bowers, Executive Director & President of FOCAS/Lord’s Gym Ministries explains that the Queensgate gym, formerly located at the corner of Dalton and York streets since July of 2015, is a great gym facility and served a wonderful brotherhood of very capable men thanks to the generosity of many people, churches, businesses, and foundations. However, the facility was underutilized, and served a population of men who were not living self-destructive lifestyles.
